| I
launched Feltz Designs in 2006 to make handcrafted felted wool
purses, bags and accessories after wrapping up a successful technology
consulting career. Thirty-five years of any profession is enough, and I
was ready for a change! The natural choice for a new business had to
involve felted bags, as I have
been knitting since the age of 5 when I was barely old enough to hold
the needles. What do they say -- "High tech, high touch"?
Having had the high tech, I was ready for the high touch. If
you're new to felted wool, you'll understand what I mean when you touch
it, and if you've already made its acquaintance, you don't need
persuading. (See About Felted Wool ) The picture on the right shows me (on the left with the Santa hat and green down vest) in the Feltz Designs booth in Justin Hermann Plaza near the Ferry Building in downtown San Francisco, CA. As a "street artist", I am licensed by the City's Arts Commission to sell my own hand made felted wool products in the market. If you're going to San Francisco, in addition to wearing some flowers in your hair... be sure to stop by on Saturday and Sunday to visit my booth. I sell a wide variety of felted bags and felted purses in the booth and also felted wool hats -- wonderfully warm and wind-proof for those of you from places like Minnesota and Chicago!
